Is it possible that whoever manages the programmes to be shown on TVM could not foresee that there would be a good number of people who would have liked to see the masterly performance given by Roberto Benigni at the university instead of the usual trash and sometimes vulgar shows which are shown on TVM? Sir Temi Zammit Hall was packed and a huge crowd had to stand and watch the maxi-screen. Others, perhaps because of health reasons, had to remain at home desperately wondering what they were missing.
I believe that one of the main objectives of the media is to impart culture to people. This case is surely not a typical example of that.
