Congratulations to The Times for an excellent new format.

Although several changes have taken place, I noticed that the George Cross emblem on the front page has been left unchanged. I am sure that many readers would have been very upset had the GC emblem been removed.

Perhaps the editor will tell us the date it was first put on.

Editor's note: The first edition of The Times to carry the George Cross was that of Saturday, April 18, 1942, on the right hand side of the masthead. The award of the medal to the people of Malta had taken place three days earlier, on April 15.
