Air Malta flying to Charles De Gaulle airport
Air Malta has announced it will be flying to Charles De Gaulle airport, Paris, four times a week as from next year.
The decision follows the double-digit growth registered on the French routes last winter, the airline said. In fact, Air Malta is awaiting slot timings clearance from the airport authorities and expects to welcome the first bookings from July.
The announcement comes at a time, the airline added, when other carriers operating the Malta route are contemplating cutting down or withdrawing their services completely.
"Air Malta's decision is further evidence of the airline's long-term commitment towards the local tourism industry and the Maltese traveller and remains the country's sole strategic asset in providing route connectivity to over 40 destinations and beyond," the company said.
Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is the largest airport serving Paris and the second busiest passenger airport in Europe after London Heathrow. The airport lies 23 kilometres north-east of Paris and offers numerous transport links to the French capital by road and rail.
The airport is considered one of Europe's main gateways to the US and the Far East. Air Malta will be closely analysing new potential partnerships with other carriers, giving Malta more accessibility to offline markets.
Paris CDG Airport has an integrated train system serving it. The TGV train service reaches central Paris in about 45 minutes, Disney World in 10 minutes and Lille and Brussels in an hour.

As per the previous article this is great news, however this article is factually incorrect,
you cannot take the TGV from CDG to Paris and it cetainly doesnt take 45 minutes, normally takes 25 - 30 minutes and it is on the RER, also you cannot get to Disneyland in 10 minutes by train and there is no direct train service.
