Migrant arraigned after open centre incident

A Somalian national was this morning remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring another man at the open centre in Birzebbuga.

Yusuf Osman Ilmi, 30, currently residing at the Ħal Far centre, pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring Said Mohamed Gudi.on on Sunday evening at 10.30p.m.

Magistrate Silvio Meli also heard Mr Yusuf plead not guilty to breaching the public peace and disturbing the other inhabitants.

Police Inspector Priscilla Caruana prosecuted. Lawyer Mark Busuttil appeared for Mr Yusuf.
