A father and his son were this morning granted bail against a personal guarantee of €10,000 (Lm4,291.84) after they pleaded not guilty to trying to seriously injure another man.

Carmelo Farrugia, 49 and Alan Farrugia, 18 from Tarxien pleaded not guilty to trying to seriously injure Mario Bonnici on Sunday at 7p.m. at Tarxien.

They also pleaded not guilty to using a pointed instrument to injure Mr Bonnici and breaching the public peace.

The court presided by Magistrate Silvio Meli heard the men also plead not guilty to causing slight injury to Joseph Manicaro and Benedetto Bonnici using a pointed instrument.

Police Inspector Spiridone Zammit prosecuted.
