Choice of Speaker

The PN government has given a clear sign of political maturity and responsibility to the Labour opposition, offering the latter the privilege and prestige of nominating the Speaker of the House.

Unfortunately, such an offer was turned down. Labour should have taken the opportunity and accepted the genuine attempt by the newly-elected government. It should have also, in a reciprocal sign of fair play and sense of maturity, nominated a Nationalist MP to the post!
