Labour leadership race
Coleiro Preca plans to release manifesto this week
Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, one of the contenders for the top Labour leadership post, is expected to launch her official leadership campaign manifesto later this week.
She continued on the campaign trail yesterday, meeting people and listening to their views and aspirations as regards the Malta Labour Party.
Ms Coleiro Preca visited the Ta' Qali open air market and the Amitex Travel Fair at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre where she met people from all walks of life. Speaking to the media, she said listening to people's aspirations about the party was the primary objective of her campaign. The main aim was to meet as many people as possible and set the example that the MLP has to be and stay close to people because it is only in this way it can respond to the way they tick.
She said a number of people have spoken to her about the proposed pairing agreement in Parliament and that this should be used as a negotiating tool. While agreeing with such a point of view, Ms Coleiro Preca said that the pairing agreement had also to be used responsibly in the country's best interest.
