Promoting Resilience in the Classroom: A Guide to Developing Pupils' Emotional and Cognitive Skills is a new book by Carmel Cefai, a lecturer at the University of Malta's Faculty of Education, recently published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers (London) in their Innovative Learning for All series.

The book provides teachers with a guide to encouraging cognitive, social and emotional skills in children and to create a classroom that nurtures resilience. The author explores the theory that lies behind educational resilience in children and provides inclusive teaching approaches that will support not just vulnerable or at-risk children, but the whole class.

The book examines effective practices in classrooms and offers a framework that can be adapted and tailored to meet the needs of diverse educational settings. Case studies are used throughout to bring to life classroom activities and to illustrate how to build connections with pupils in meaningful, authentic activities.

The book is on sale from leading bookshops.
