The Malta Feline Fanciers has held the last International Cat show which was won by locally bred international champion Shulamyth Gorgeous George, a cream and white male Persian owned by Mark Micallef and bred by Nadine Cachia.
This season saw the introduction of side classes.
The federation is credited with the establishing local cat fancy over eight years ago.
Together with its affiliated club - the Malta Feline Fanciers, the MFF membership base encompasses several breeders, exhibitors and ordinary cat lovers in the Maltese Islands. As full members of the Fife (Federation Internationale Feline), the Malta Feline Federation also issues internationally recognised Fife cat pedigrees and also has Malta's largest registry for pure breed and domestic cats.
The MFF aims to promote the welfare of all cats - the breeding of pedigree cats to Fife international standards, to organise cat shows of a high level, to promote sportsmanship and friendship among cat lovers, to work for animal rights and to work for the welfare of all cats.
The club also offers a pedigree verification and registration service, details and forms can be obtained by writing to MFF, P.O. Box 18, Zabbar (a stamp is to be included) or e-mail mff@di-ve.com.
