The two main roads leading to Marsascala are in a very bad state. I have been sending e-mails, calling councils and the Malta Transport Authority, to no avail.

The roads are littered with potholes, some of them several centimetres deep, enough to slash a tyre or break a wishbone.

What is even more perplexing is that the Prime Minister, who lives in Marsascala and uses the Marsascala bypass every day, is surely not spared such inconveniences.

Marsascala residents are taxpayers too.

I wonder what Sliema residents, who have by far better roads than ours (there is absolutely no comparison), would do when an election is due.

Would they live with such miserable roads? Considering that they have such a 'hold' on the current administration, would they give a block vote to the government? Sliema and St Julian's are paradise areas compared with Marsascala.
