Beating about the bush

It seems that the Malta Environment and Planning Authority is not the only entity which is bereft of common sense. Most local councils seem to suffer from this deficiency. A case in point is the roundabout situated next to Polverista Gate in Cospicua.

It seems that the Malta Environment and Planning Authority is not the only entity which is bereft of common sense. Most local councils seem to suffer from this deficiency. A case in point is the roundabout situated next to Polverista Gate in Cospicua. Lack of common sense has created a situation where, because of bushes planted in the roundabout, cars exiting the tunnel and driving towards Cospicua are unable to see traffic coming up the hill and negotiating the roundabout.

This is by no means the only roundabout or centre strip with this problem. Logic and commonsense would dictate that bushes, hedges or trees are not placed at the very end of centre strips so as to give a clear view to oncoming traffic without the need to drive halfway into the road.
