Archbishop Paul Cremona visited St Augustine College, Pietà, earlier this month to join in celebrations marking the school's Founder's Day. The school was originally set up in Valletta 160 years ago by the then Augustinian provincial Fr Gaetano Pace Forno, OSA.

Mgr Cremona was welcomed by Augustinian provincial Fr Lucian Borg, OSA, college rector Fr Alan Scerri, OSA, students' council president Bernard Pisani, staff, students and parents and the college Scouts group.

After addressing the gathering, the Archbishop toured the classrooms and shared ideas and thoughts with teachers and students. He met the students' council to be briefed on its work at the college and concelebrated a Mass with the Augustinian fathers and deacons who are old boys of the college.

Mgr Cremona unveiled a new mural, the work of artist Bernard Scicluna, to mark the college's 160th anniversary. He was also presented with a silver icon, a €500 donation collected from students, and a skull cap to be exchanged with his own, so that the latter would remain at the college as a memento of this visit.
