Health and safety certificate
The Institute of Health and Safety said results for local candidates of the NEBOSH International General Certificate in Health and Safety have broken past records.
The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (Nebosh) is the leading UK examination authority in this field.
The institute said 11 of the 14 candidates achieved a pass standard, with one being awarded a credit pass. This represents a pass rate of 79 per cent which is around 30 per cent better than the international average.
The three candidates who did not manage to obtain a pass this time will be able to repeat one or more parts of the assessment at a later date.
Many of those who are successful at this level go on to further study to enable them to become fully fledged health and safety professionals.
The next course will begin on August 22.
