What is not a traffic island or a roundabout and certainly not a mini-roundabout or traffic circle but once was a controlled roundabout and today is a traffic juncture where mayhem reigns?

Got it first time: the Kappara traffic juncture.

What's long, wide, humped and should be reprimanded?

Not bad - a sleeping policeman, better still traffic hump. These are sprouting all over our islands without regard to local or international standards.

Incidentally there is a humorous notice on the bridge in Old College Street, Sliema. It solemnly warns all drivers that no vehicle over one ton should be driven over this bridge. The funny - or tragic - thing is that most of the vehicles on the road weigh more than one ton and are daily negotiating this bridge. While you're at it, don't forget to remove the three parking bays on this bridge: Three cars of static weight surely equal more than one ton.
