Obituary

BORG FERRANDO. On April 23, at Mater Dei Hospital, ANTOINETTE of Ħamrun, aged 64, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to celebrate her eternal life her beloved husband Joseph, her adoring sons, Kevin and his wife Stephanie, Ivan and his wife Caroline, Mark and his wife Tiiu, and her loving daughter Sharon and her fiancée Omar, as well as grandchildren Sarah, Daniel, Katrina and Gabriel, her brother Vincent and his wife Pauline of Australia, her sister Grace, her sisters and brother-in-law and their respective families, other dear relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by all.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Francis church, Villambrosa Street, Ħamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, and Caritas, Floriana, will be appreciated.
Special thanks to all the staff and the consultant at the ENT and Ward M4, Mater Dei Hospital, for their care and dedication.
May the Lord grant her eternal rest.

FENECH. On April 22, HILDA, née Vella, aged 83, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved husband Wilfrid, her son Anthony and his wife Maria Aurora, her grandchildren Nicole Marie and Jean Paul, her sister Antida, widow of Joseph M. Azzopardi, her brother Roger Vella and his wife Dorothy, her husband's relatives, her daughter-in-law's family, Godfrey, Doris, Vanya and Konrad, her nephews, nieces and their spouses, other relatives and friends.
Mass praesente cadavere will be said today at 2.30 p.m. at Balzan parish church, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

LUNGARO. On April 23, at Mater Dei Hospital, EMANUEL of Marsaxlokk, ex-proprietor, Skuna Restaurant, aged 63, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Salvina, his children Josephine and her husband Saviour Tabone, Michelle and Joseph, his grandchildren Valerie, James and Patrick, his brothers and sisters, in-laws and their families, his mother-in-law Lucia, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 8.15 a.m. for Marsaxlokk parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9 a.m., followed by interment at St Gregory Cemetery, Żejtun. No flowers by request but donations to Dar Nażaret, Żejtun, will be greatly appreciated.

Lunchtime recital

Flutist Silvio Zammit and pianist Ramona Zammit Formosa will present a recital at the Sala Isouard of the Manoel Theatre during lunchtime on April 30 at 1 p.m.

Fund raising

The Naxxar local council will be holding two fund-raising activities in aid of the Naxxar fireworks explosion victims.

The activities include a football marathon to be held at the five-a-side ground in front of the civic centre and a pasta night at the Oratory, both on Saturday.

Telecoms today

The Malta Group of Professional Engineering Institutions will be making a presentation entitled Telecommunications In The Modern Age at the Corinthia San Ġorġ Hotel, St Julians this evening at 5.45 p.m. Speakers include Christian Ransley and Jesmond Zammit.

Valletta concert

The Malta Cultural Institute will be holding a concert featuring a horns quartet, a voice, clarinet and pianoforte trio and a presentation on the Shaolin Kung Fu Monks at the Casino Maltese in Republic Street, Valletta. The event will take place on May 5 at 7 p.m.

Spring fair

The Ninu Cremona Lyceum Complex in Victoria will be holding its annual spring fair in conjunction with the Gozo 1234 festivities on May 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the school's premises. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Monthly meeting

The Dun Alfred Prayer Group will be holding its monthly meeting at the All Souls church in Merchants Street, Valletta tomorrow at 10.45 a.m.
