New MMA chairman appointed
Mark Portelli has been appointed chairman of the Malta Maritime Authority and will also retain his chairmanship of Malta Freeport Corporation, the Ministry for the Infrastructure and Transport has announced.
It said it had been decided to give both chairmanships to Mr Portelli because of the natural synergies between the two organisations, which, through greater collaboration would result in better services to the public.
Chris Grech has been appointed deputy chairman of the MMA while the other board members are Alfred Aquilina, Joe Degabriele, Andrew Sacco, Stephen Muscat, Francesca Mamo and Luisa Bonello.
Chris Grech is also deputy chairman of the Malta Freeport Corporation while the other director is Alfred Aquilina,.

I can't see how a supervisory body can have a chairman who is also acting as a chairman of one of the operators the supervisory body is supposed to supervise!
