The Malta Transport Authority has informed the Victoria local council that works carried out in Kennedy Square, did not conform to the permits issued and should therefore, be rectified within two weeks.

The ADT said it was acting on instructions by Transport Minister Austin Gatt.

In a letter dated April 18, ADT chief executive officer Ray Attard informed the Victoria local council that, following a site inspection, it resulted that the asphalt laid had a crack, exhibited areas of segregation and irregularity and there was no seal between the asphalt layer and other materials.

Irregularities in a footway and traffic island were also noted and the council was given 15 days within which to rectify the irregularities or the ADT would carry out the works itself and bill the council.
