A motion for the general conference of the Labour Party to allow all paid up members to vote in the leadership election is to be presented tomorrow afternoon.

MLP president Stefan Zrinzo Azzopardi said a number of delegates had requested an appointment with him to present the motion.

He said that once the motion is received, he will ensure that the party structures consider it in terms of the party statute.

The call for all members to be allow to vote was first made by leadership contender George Abela. At present it is only the delegates to the general conference who have the right to vote.
