May I take this opportunity, through this newspaper, to speak to the person who finds it necessary to steal the flowers and plants from my husband's grave.

Twice in the last week I have been to Addolorata cemetery in Marsa to put fresh flowers and plants on my husband's grave only to find that they have disappeared.

The last time, two of my grand-daughters prepared pots with plants for their grand-dad. One of the pots with a red rose has disappeared completely and a fuchsia - his favourite plant - has gone along with the earth, leaving an empty pot behind.

If the person responsible is so very short of money I will gladly buy him some plants as he is causing myself and my family a great deal of distress.

Finally, a word to the superintendent whose response was the traditional shrug of the shoulders and what can I do. Please try to do something as I'm sure that I'm not the only person to suffer like this.

I would also like to say that I was under the impression that Malta was a Christian country and I'm not only shocked and hurt but also appalled that someone would stoop so low as to rob a grave.
