Edgar Prado, who rode Barbaro to his Kentucky Derby triumph in 2006, and distinguished trainer Carl Nafzger this week were elected into the National Museum of Racing's Hall of Fame.
Also gaining entrance into the Saratoga Springs, New York hall were double Derby-winning jockey Ismael "Milo" Valenzuela and the horses Inside Information, Manila and Ancient Title, officials said.
Prado, 40, led the nation in victories for three consecutive years, from 1997 to 1999 while based in Maryland. But he is perhaps best known as the jockey aboard Barbaro, who won the Derby but broke down two weeks later at the Preakness and was ultimately destroyed after a lengthy battle.
The 66-year-old Nafzger is a two-time Derby-winning trainer, saddling Unbridled to the winner's circle in 1990 and Street Sense in 2007.
