The climate change topic has gathered unprecedented importance over these last years. Predictions that climate change will affect planet life have been made decades ago. Now, it is affecting the one thing which is most dear to all peoples - human health.
With access to the ongoing objective data reported to us by the biggest panel of scientists on climate change - the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change - we are all now, in a better position to appreciate the fact that climate change is a product of our everyday living. Activities, necessities and commodities all contribute to this phenomenon. Having potable water in our taps and electricity in our homes, appliances such as freezers and fridges, cars outside our house for transport, roads and streets which are lit up every night - are all things which are leaving their mark on the climate.
The future is clear. While living without our daily necessities is unthinkable, responsible use of resources is indispensable. We must take care of the environment we live in as much as we take care of our health. Clean energy use also through a healthier and more environmentally friendly lifestyle is undoubtedly the way forward.
The world of 2050 will be very much different. Through our lifestyles, we are all deciding for the world we want to see in the future.
