MLP sees bridge as monument to inefficiency
The Labour Party has described Manwel Dimech bridge as a monument to Nationalist government incompetence.
The bridge was fully reopened for traffic on Monday afternoon. The project was €2.3 million over budget and 15 months late, the party pointed out.
It noted that Austin Gatt, now the minister responsible for the roads, had asked the Transport Authority for a detailed report on what had caused the problems in this project. This, the MLP said, did not reflect seriousness since the ADT itself had been directly responsible for the confusion which characterised the project.
It said that any report should also investigate whether there was a breach of ethics through the involvement in this project of the partnership DTR whose owner, architect Robert Sant, was a partner with former roads minister Jesmond Mugliett in another company, Sant & Mugliett.

You should really be talking about their contribution to the infrastructure during their 1971-1987 reign. The new Airport, new telephone system, new power station, new water mains, new reverse osmosis plants, Mater Dei, etc.
Oops! my mistake - were those infrastructure projects not started after 1987?
The MLP must certainly be cleaning up. Their weekly beefs seem to be recycled material from their waste paper baskets.
What about Labour's major contribution to Malta's infrastructure during their short-lived government...namely the Bugibba seafront?!
