Man extradited over injury charge

A Polish national who was residing in Burmarrad was extradited to Poland following a European arrest warrant issued against him.

The arrest warrant against Grzegorz Andrzej Zukowski, 35, was issued by the Sad Okregowy Regional Court in Koszalin II Wydzial Karny for causing bodily harm. If found guilty, Mr Zukowski faces up to three years imprisonment. Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera ordered the extradition after Mr Zukowski surrendered himself to the authorities.

Senior Counsel to the Republic Donnatella Frendo Dimech together with Police Inspectors George Cremona and Mario Cuschieri prosecuted. Lawyer Mark Busuttil appeared as legal aid to Mr Zukowski.
