Man arrested on scene of robbery

The police have arrested a man who is thought to have burgled an outlet in Valley Road, Birkirkara, early this morning.

The police explained that policemen from Msida station who were on patrol were alerted by people that they had strange noises from the establishment.

The policemen, joined by officers from Birkirkara station, carried out a search and found the man hiding in grass behind the establishment. They also discovered tools.

Items allegedly stolen from the establishment were found in a nearby car, which itself had also been stolen.

The man is also being investigated over other thefts from the same establishment.
