A 33-year-old man has been charged with stealing over €2,329.37 (Lm1,000) worth of items from a scrap yard in Luqa.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera heard Kenneth Ellul from Poala plead not guilty to stealing from the scrap yard on the night of April 15. He also pleaded not guilty to handling stolen property and relapsing.

Police Inspector Frans Micallef prosecuted. Lawyer Mark Busuttil appeared for Mr Ellul while lawyers Joe Mifsud and John Bonello appeared in parte civile.
