Dark tunnels
The opening of the north-bound carriageway on Manuel Dimech Bridge will warrant a good and overdue whitewash to both tunnels. Obviously, due to the heavy load of traffic in both directions, this will not last long and before long they will become dirty and dark, thus making driving somewhat perilous even more so now that the sun will be blinding.
A suggestion I would like to make, unless it is already being considered, is to have large one-metre square reflectors fixed at intervals in the tunnels thus rendering driving so much safer, plus maintenance is nil. This is commonly used and effective in all tunnels, even in nearby Sicily.

This is the only country in Europe where in bright sunshine you will get finded if you don`t put your headlights in a 20m tunnel. The one under the runway on the way to Safi/Zurrieq, wardens hide behind corners to issue a citation, whereas a few neon- tubes instead of the stupidity of yellow lights will solve the problem.
