Swimmer Nick D'Arcy will appeal against his dumping from Australia's Olympic team to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), local media reported yesterday.

D'Arcy was kicked out of the team on Friday by Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) president John Coates for bringing the sport and the team into disrepute.

The 20-year-old butterfly specialist has been charged by police following an incident in March in a Sydney nightclub in which he was accused of punching former Commonwealth swimming champion Simon Cowley.

D'Arcy is due to appear in court today to face charges of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm.
