MLP plans mass celebration of Workers' Day

This is a very positive sign for Labour, things are really changing. Yes, all the contenders together, after all this is a contest not a war. So, I can't see where Mr Angelo Vassallo has found the mud slinging of one contender against the other, this is totally incorrect. None of the five candidates has said anything against the other and I challenge anyone to prove otherwise. On the contrary, they have all acknowledge each other.

As for May 1st, this is Labour's main celebration day just as 21st Sept is PN's main day. It was first celebrated in 1921 behind closed doors and with a handful of people. Today it is the worker's feast day and there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of.

After reading this news item, I said to myself what does this number 1 means?
There is May 1 - 1 team - 1 station - super 1 and so on and so forth. Is this to
keep high hopes for the supporters? We really want to know what is inside the
party. This is the transparecy of a party. By organising a demonstration in the
streets of Valletta the party is doing nothing because we had been hearing and
listening about this demonstration for at least the past 50years. Nothing new.
The same old story with different leaders.

By the way are the GWU taking part (affianco con) the deputy leader?

For me the NUMBER 1 is for the votes who win the election.

On 1 May the mlp will need to get the best out of this Activity, by showing that even on this National Day, the Celebration's won't turn out as if it's like one of those frantic Mass Meetings
the mlp, used to do before the Election of 2008,
May all goes well and good luck for the celebrations,
Dr Ch, Mangion will surely have the time to - Swallow the D.N.A issue back , and no swings about it !
1 may is very respected by all the Maltese nation, and yes Malta's Anniversary in the E.U . TOO.

Well done. That's what we want, the leadership contenders as one team, on May 1, after June 5 and hopefully after a MLP election victory in 2013. But please do give attention to ther appeal by paid up members, to have our say along with the party delegates in the new leader election. This way will prove how credible our party can be and ease the hurt many would have felt because of certain fatal errors committed in the past. Please let us show that our party is open to all, even to those who in the past did not look so favourably towards the MLP because of certain fatal strategy or maybe monopolies. Let May 1, 2008, prove that the MLP is really having a new beginning.

It has been said that, and it has been emphasized, that all the leadership contenders for the post of MLP leader will be taking part in the so-called mass celebration of Workers' Day as 'one team' and so must be all the labour supporters.

Does this mean that all the mud being thrown at each other by the leadership contenders or by their respective supporters will stop? Does that mean that we will see a very transparent and fair contest?

I sincerely hope, for the benefit of the MLP and moreover for the benefit of Malta, that we will.

GOOD IDEA WHICH SHOWS MATURITY. I REALLY AGREE WITH IT.1ST MAY CELEBRATIONS HAVE TO BE ADJOURNED FOR TODAYS LIFE.

The way 1st May is being celebrated shows the maturity level by the party nothwithstanding the defeat at the polls by a slim margin. Good idea to have all contenders in one pool.

The leadership contenders will be there as 'one team' and so must be labour supporters.
No banners and similar things as happened in 2003. The decision about the leadership will be taken at a later stage and we must celebrate May 1 in dignity.
