Man critical

A foreign driver is in critical condition after his car crashed into an electricity pole near Mater Dei Hospital on the Birkirkara bypass on Saturday night.

The man's Fiat Punto ended up on its side after impact. The police said the driver received fractures and is in danger of dying. Enemalta employees were called to the spot to neutralise the danger posed by the electricity pole.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli appointed court experts to help in an inquiry. The police are investigating.
