Maltese Australians in Sydney will celebrate Malta's National Poet, Dun Karm Psaila on Wednesday at a function sponsored by The Maltese Herald at the Parish Hall in Greystanes - a strong Maltese settlement.

John Aquilina, leader of the NSW House of Parliament, will lead the celebration. The event will see the launch of two books on Dun Karm by Roderick Bovingdon. The first book Ħsiebi bħal agħma: tieqa fuq ħsieb Dun Karm, is the 2004 biennial lecture for the Karmen Micallef Buhagiar Foundation, now published in bookform by Malta University.

The second book is a translation from Dun Karm's original Italian version of his epic poem Il Naufragio di San Paolo a Malta, translated by Professor Oliver Friggieri.
