Van driver critical
A van driver was taken to hospital, suffering from grievious injuries yesterday afternoon after a three-vehicle collision in Triq Hompesch, Żabbar.
The man, 32, had to be assisted out of his Seat van by Civil Protection officials, while three other people in the two other vehicles, a Peugeot 405 and a Fiat Punto, were uninjured. Before crashing into the two other cars, the van had also collided with the centre strip. The road had to be shut to traffic for some time. Police are investigating.
In the meantime, another man was hospitalised last night following another traffic accident at Tal-Qroqq, close to the Mater Dei hospital. His condition was unknown at the time of going to press.
