Smart City participated in Outsource World London last week to promote Smart City Malta and Kochi to attract potential customers and investors.
Considered the premier business trade platform for executives with a need to outsource business services, Outsource World London puts top-level executives face-to-face with exhibitors who understand their particular needs and have hands-on experience delivering solutions and solving problems for companies just like theirs. Smart City, a global network of self-sustained townships for knowledge-based industries, engaged UK outsourcing companies to expand their business to Smart City Malta and/or Smart City Kochi, where they can be in closer proximity to their customer base.
The decision to outsource is often made in the interest of lowering costs, redirecting or conserving energy directed at the competencies of a particular business, or to make more efficient use of labour, capital, technology and resources. The global outsourcing market today amounts to around $350 billion and there is a great demand for outsourcing.
Fareed Abdulrahman, chief executive officer of Smart City and a board member of Smart City Malta and Kochi, said: "Our participation served to raise awareness and interest about SmartCity among local, regional and international audiences and at the same time engage stakeholders."
Mr Abdulrahman delivered a presentation entitled 'Smart City - managing change when going global' and focused on selecting the right destination, local partners, and local solutions, international partners and international solutions, workforce skill statistics issues.
Smart City Malta is a $300 million self-sustained industry township for knowledge-based companies at Ricasoli estate in Malta. The project is expected to generate 5,600 jobs and create a total office space of 103,000 square metres.
