International Digital Arts Expo

Over 3,000 people have now registered their interest in the first ever Malta International Digital Arts (MIDA) Expo 2008, which will be held at the Hilton Conference Centre between July 3 and 6. On registration, applicants obtain their complimentary entrance ticket and access to the exposition of the newest products, applications and services designed to enhance digital creativity.

Maltese professionals in the IT, media and creative industries will, for the very first time, have a world class event held locally. Local businesses seeking to understand how digital technologies can contribute more effectively to their operations, will be able to see and hear demonstrations without having to travel abroad.

MIDA 2008 goes right to the heart of the connection between business, the media and creativity, looking at the developing technology and, more importantly, how it can be put to good use to enhance the value of businesses from across the economy.

True to this vision, MIDA 2008 will be the venue for an extensive series of workshops and seminars, hosted by the many confirmed participating organisations and presented by international experts.

The workshops - like the whole of MIDA 2008 - are not concentrating on the technology in its own right.

They represent a combination of events, covering everything from the uses of online marketing campaigns to more technical sessions on how specific tools can be used to enhance a printed document, from the raw practicality of tools designed to ease workflow all the way to demonstrations of how a digital production can be enhanced artistically while remaining commercially viable.

Confirmed participants so far include Allied Group, Autodesk - I SYS Integrated Business Systems, Apple International through SG Solutions, Maxon Cinema 4D, Metal FX Technology UK, Tools Group UK, Canon through Avantech, Sado Co. Ltd, Kodak, Exigy Microsoft Dynamics, Sugar CRM, Media Desk, Malta Enterprise, Malta College of Arts and Science, St Martin's Institute of IT, Malta Chamber of Small Enterprises, Vogue Printers, Mailbox Distribution Services, Digi Graphics, Vodafone and XFM.
