I cannot but put pen to paper to convey our dismay at the lack of service rendered by Enemalta Corporation in 2008. Meanwhile, we hope that the competent authorities do not turn a deaf ear to this complaint.

On the morning of April 17 at 5.45 we, the residents of Agatha Barbara Street in Żabbar, suffered what must be the millionth power cut, which each time creates havoc as it makes it almost impossible for a family to get prepared in time for the day ahead. Unfortunately, this almost always happens when windy weather prevails.

We are now sick and tired of having makeshift power lines which get disconnected at every nonsense, leaving us in the dark while we have to wait anxiously for Enemalta to come to our rescue. The irony of it all is that it is always the same single power line that gets disconnected, but then connected again by Enemalta instead of being replaced.

Not to mention that in this area, namely Tal-Ħofra, electricity voltage keeps fluctuating to create surges that sometimes even leave us with dead appliances!

So much for getting the excellent service that Maltese citizens deserve in return for paying our tax contributions and electricity bills on time. Well done, Enemalta, for the service you are supplying us with, which, one must say, has fallen far below the standard of service provided in other EU countries.
