ABELA. On April 17, at Mtarfa Home for the Elderly, MARIA, née Giusti, of Paola, widow of Francis, aged 91, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Manoel and his wife Helen, granddaughters Marique and her husband John, Françoise and her husband Joseph, great-grandchildren Gabriella and Matthew, her brothers Joseph and Emanuel Giusti, nephews and nieces, in-laws, relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mtarfa Home today at 2 p.m. for All Souls church (Ta' l-Erwieħ), Tarxien, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
Lord grant her eternal rest.

BAKER. On April 13, at his residence, HENRY GEORGE, of Sta Luċija, aged 76, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Lukie, his children Denise, Chris, Colin and Charlotte, and their families, his sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.
The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8 a.m. for Sta Luċija parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 8.30 a.m. followed by interment in the family vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

CARUANA. On April 17, FRANCIS, aged 78, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Josephine, his son Albert and his wife Rose Marie, his daughter Carmen and her husband David, his grandchildren, relatives and friends.
The funeral Mass will be said today at 3 p.m. at Għaxaq parish church.
Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Environment and mental health

The Richmond Foundation will hold a seminar entitled The Environment And Its Effects On Mental Health on April 24 between 8.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.

The seminar will take place at St James Cavalier in Valletta and costs €12 (Lm5.15). Bookings close on Tuesday and can be made by calling 2122 4580 or 2148 2336.

Spring show

The Malta Horticultural Society will be holding its traditional Spring Horticultural Show of Flowers, Fruit, Pot Plants and Vegetables at San Anton Gardens, Attard on May 3 and 4. The show will be open between 2 and 10 p.m. on May 3 and between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. on May 4. Entrance costs €1 (43c) while children under the age of 12 enter for free.

Ħamrun concert

The St Joseph Musical Society of Ħamrun will be holding a vocal and instrumental concert on the occasion of the feast of St Joseph on April 25 at 7.30 p.m. The concert will be under the direction of John Ivan Borg.

Choral concert

The Chorus Carmeli, the all-female Sta Venera parish church choir, will be presenting a concert of spirituals and gospel songs on April 30 at the Sta Venera parish church at 7.30 p.m. under the direction of Joe Tanti. Entrance is free and all are welcome.
