Labour MEP Joseph Muscat insisted this evening that he will be a candidate for the leadership of the MLP.

Referring to a PBS report, Dr Muscat said he wanted to deny that he would be withdrawing his nomination.

Dr Muscat said he had a good relationship with all the other leadership contenders, including George Abela, and, if elected, would seek to give them a central role in the party. Should he not be elected, he would work with the leader for Labour success.
