Two Italians were conditionally discharged for one year after they pleaded guilty to stealing a handbag from a nightclub in Paceville.

Lorenzo Lerati, 19, and Olivo Joere, 20, admitting to stealing a handbag containing €250, two mobile phones and personal documents. The bag was stolen at about 1.45 on Saturday morning, the police said.

The Italian men appeared before Magistrate Audrey Demicoli.

Police Inspector Trevor Micallef prosecuted.
