SmartCity Malta promoted at OutsourceWorld London

SmartCity has participated in OutsourceWorld London held on 16th and 17th April, fulfilling its ongoing commitment to promote SmartCity Malta and SmartCity Kochi to attract potential customers and investors. Considered as the premier business trade platform for executives with a need to outsource business services, OutsourceWorld London, puts top-level executives face-to-face with exhibitors who understand their particular needs and have hands on experience delivering solutions and solving problems for companies just like theirs. SmartCity, a global network of self-sustained townships for knowledge-based industries, engaged UK outsourcing companies to expand their business to SmartCity Malta and/or SmartCity Kochi, where they can be in closer proximity to their customer base.

Outsourcing involves the subcontracting of a process, such as product design or manufacturing to a third-party company. The decision to outsource is often made in the interest of lowering firm costs, redirecting or conserving energy directed at competencies of a particular business, or to make more efficient use of labor, capital, technology and resources. The global outsourcing market today amounts to around $350 billion and therefore there is a great demand for outsourcing.

Fareed Abdulrahman, Chief Executive Officer of SmartCity and a board member of SmartCity Malta and SmartCity Kochi, said “Our participation served to raise awareness and interest about SmartCity among local, regional and international audiences and at the same time engage stakeholders. This will further enhance credibility and awareness of SmartCity locations.”

Mr Abdulrahman delivered a presentation entitled “SmartCity – Managing Change When Going Global”. Its main points include selecting the right destination, local partners, and local solutions; international partners and international solutions, workforce skill statistics issues. He also highlighted SmartCity infrastructure and opportunities within the SmartCity townships.

“This convention has served as an excellent platform to inform audiences about SmartCity’s project features and benefits, educate audiences on SmartCity’s value proposition and generate further brand visibility for SmartCity. We are coming back from this convention with quality leads that will initiate and maintain relationships with potential investors, customers and stakeholders,” said Mr Abdulrahman.
