Worker critical after fall

A 62-year-old worker is in a critical condition after he fell from a height of three storeys while working on the façade of a building under construction in Gudja yesterday, the police said.

The accident happened at about 7.45 a.m. when the man, from Kalkara, was working on the building in Żebbuġ Road.

For some reason, the man fell down three floors hitting a plank of wood in the process. He was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital where he was diagnosed as having sustained grievous injuries, the police said.

Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna appointed experts to assist him in an inquiry.
