Talks on local government

The Parliamentary Secretary for Public Dialogue and Information within the Office of the Prime Minister, Chris Said, yesterday held a meeting with officials from the Centre of Expertise for Local Government Reform of the Council of Europe.

The officials were the guests of the Local Councils Association, which asked the centre's assistance in the drawing up of a strategic plan for the association. During this meeting, which was also attended by the Director of Local Government Natalino Attard, several issues were discussed.

They included better collaboration between central and local authorities and the centre, concrete assistance from the centre in the implementation of a reform at national and local level, training needs and capacity building.
