A 31-year-old Georgian national was conditionally discharged after he admitted in court today to stealing a belt form the Diesel clothes shop in Valletta.

Magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna heard how Mr Chelidze had stolen the €81(Lm34.76) belt from the Merchant street store at noon on Tuesday.

Police Inspector Alfred Mallia prosecuted.

Lawyer Patrick Valentino appeared as legal aid to Mr Chelidze.

That is a very expensive belt - must be something to do with the rising cost of a barrel of oil (and there was I thinking that petrol was cheaper than diesel LOL).
