This year's Malta Masters 10K, now in its 11th edition, is being held next Sunday at Marsascala, starting at 8.45 a.m.

The race, over two laps, starts from opposite the Jerma Palace Hotel site and proceeds left to St Thomas Bay.

The runners will then make their way towards the centre of the village. On reaching the main square, they will go up the road and turn right into St Anne Street towards the church.

From there, participants will then have to turn left and go up La Sengle Road for the first two blocks and then make a right turn into Buzbez Road and back towards the church.

They will then run along the promenade towards starting point where they will continue for the second lap of the 10-kilometre race.

There will be cash prizes for the top three in both the men's and women's categories. Trophies will also be given to the winner in each five-year category, the runners-up in every category where there are at least five finishers and a third prize when there are eight finishers. A commemorative medal will be presented to all those who finish the race.
