The Nationalist Party in its electoral programme pledged to implement 353 promises should it be returned to power.

Over a period of five years this works out at an average of six promises per month - not taking into account the summer and other recesses.

As Parliament will not meet until May 10 none of these promises could be implemented so statistically speaking by that time 12 promises will be in arrears.

It is very important, therefore, that the government gets cracking after that date if it wishes to keep its pledge and avoid adverse comments from friend and foe alike.
