The Broadcasting Authority
has fined Bondi Plus €1,164 after finding that the March 10 edition had 17
minutes 35 seconds of adverts between 9-10 p.m. when the maximum allowed by law
is 12 minutes.

I agree with Mr.Vella, and also the fine should be much bigger and be donated to an NGO such as Eden Foundation etc...

I agree with Mr. Vella's reasoning. The fine should be 150% of the extra revenue generated. If there is a repeat offence within a one year period an additional fine should be imposed by the Authority.

How much additional advertising revenue did the producers generate through the additional five minutes and thirty five seconds of advertising? If the amount fined is less than the amount earned, the situation will still prevail as the net profit generated still makes it worthwhile. Offenders need to be fined all advertising revenue plus a top up fine if this is to stop. Otherwise it's all a farce.
