This year the Sisters of the Congregation - Daughters of the Sacred Heart, are celebrating the 85th anniversary of the death of their foundress Mother Maria Tereza Nuzzo.

This year they will also be celebrating the 100th anniversary since the congregation started her apostolate at Żejtun. In the 19th and 20th century, Maria Teresa was bestowed by the gift of the Holy Spirit for the benefit of the Church. She then set out to direct her energies to meet their spiritual needs and started the Daughters of the Sacred Heart in Ħamrun.

Mother Maria Tereza died on April 17, 1923. To commemorate a 100 years of the sisters in Żejtun and Mother Maria Tereza's anniversary a Mass is being held at Holy Trinity Parish Church, Marsa on Thursday, April 17 at 6.30 p.m.

Another thanksgiving High Mass will be held at St Catherine's Parish Church, Żejtun on May 17 at 6.30 p.m. The main celebrant will be the Archbishop Paul Cremona.
