Emirates recently celebrated its 10th anniversary with an evening party for trade partners and staff members of passenger and cargo agents. In 1998, Malta was among the earlier countries in Europe to be served by Emirates. It was the eighth european country and the 41st destination worldwide.

Keith Longstaff, Emirates' senior vice president commercial operations, Europe said: "I thank you all for your outstanding travel and cargo services to Emirates. We enjoy working with you and we hope to continue our partnership, so that our businesses can grow further together."

Paul Fleri Soler, manager for Malta and Cyprus said: "Emirates will be introducing daily flights from Malta to Dubai via Larnaca from December 1, 2008. From May 2, the aircraft on the route will change from a two-class Boeing 777-200 to the larger Boeing 777-300 in a three-class configuration."

The guests were entertained by Steve Cole, DJ, singer, and pianist and a belly dancer. At the end of the night, a raffle was drawn and two people won a short break at Inter Continental Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus and the Harbour Hotel and Residence in Dubai.
