It was in total disbelief when we came to know of the passing away of a dear friend. The untimely and sudden death of Paul has touched the hearts of a number of friends and colleagues at the Customs Department at the Parcel Post Office, Valletta.
Death is a reality which the mightiest and the lowest cannot escape.
Our first acquaintance dates back to the mid-70s when Paul started his career as a customs officer at the Post Office. Instantly, it seemed that we were to become good friends. Perhaps he made this impression on everyone. He was an intelligent person at work and gifted with technical brilliance. His greatest attribute was his love and respect for all. Humility and simplicity made him a unique gentleman. His colleagues lost a man who acted true to his spirit and conscience, especially during his last post whilst serving as director general at the Customs Department.
Our heartfelt sympathy and condolences to his dear wife Lucy, his children and members of the family. Paul will always be in our thoughts and prayers.
May God grant him eternal peace.
