According to Forum Malta fl-Ewropa, the Malta Aviation Museum which houses a number of refurbished World War II aircraft as well as aviation artifacts, has benefitted from EU funding to the tune of €90,175. This sum was instrumental in making it possible to erect the Malta Aviation Foundation's new hangar commemorating the Air Battle of Malta during World War II. Prior to that two individuals were sent to the Imperial War Museum in London and Duxford to learn restoration processes and techniques for aircraft.

It would be very appropriate for Heritage Malta to release on loan the fuselage of Gloster Sea Gladiator N5520 'Faith' languishing at St Elmo, so that it is completely refurbished by local professional people at the Aviation Museum, Ta' Qali, where experience and genuine Gladiator parts, including wings, are available.
