McDonald's Malta is to open its restaurant kitchens to the public again. This year's 'open door' programme kicked off last Thursday with local media being given a guided tour of the kitchen at the MIA restaurant.

As part of McDonald's on-going food quality communication, the open-door programme is an opportunity for the public to have a closer look at the ingredients used, the preparation process, and hygiene and safety measures in place.

McDonald's Malta managing director, said: "We are proud of the food we serve our customers and we want them to be proud of the food they enjoy every time they visit our restaurants."

Trained McDonald's crew will welcome participants at selected restaurants, on specific dates and timing to avoid over-crowding. The tour will consist of a comprehensive tour the different kitchen areas, starting from the back to the front counter, where food is served to the customers.

McDonald's restaurants are among the most trusted names among quick service restaurants, serving around 52 million customers every day in 118 countries.

All those customers interested in taking the 30-minute tour today, at the Bugibba, Malta International Airport, Bay Street and Gozo restaurants may do so between 9 and 11.30 a.m. or between 2.20 and 5 p.m.
