The police have arraigned three Romenian nationals in front of Magistrate Anthony Ellul earlier this morning.
The foreigners, born and residing in Vilcae are Maria Matei, aged 34, Nicolae Miclescu, aged 28 and a 14-year-old girl.
These were accused of trading in a street in Gozo without the necessry license yesterday, employment without notifying the Employment and Training Corporation and deceiving the public.
Mr Miclescu was accused of stealing a bottle of wine in Triq Marsalforn, Xaghra at around 9.45 a.m. yesterday while Ms Matei was also accused of stealing 20 euros at Xaghra. Furthermore, the girl was accused of stealing three shirts.
After admitting guilt, Mr Miclescu was sentenced to seven months imprisonment, suspended for four years and Ms Matei was sentenced to four months imprisonment, again suspended for four years. The girl was warned not to commit a crime within three years.
